Artwork

These pieces are some of my quick sketches and favorite artwork that I have done. Most are pen and ink because that is my favorite medium. Some of them were also originally done in pencil and then gone back over with a pen.

You can get a life size view of these pieces by clicking on them. Be forewarned that these graphics are saved in the PNG format due to patent problems with UNISYS over the GIF format. If you have problems seeing the image, you will need to right-click on the image and choose “Save Image As” and then open them up with your favorite graphics viewer in order to see them.

Balancing Act

A drawing of two forks balanced on a toothpick which is balanced on a toothpick that sticks out of a salt shaker. This is one of my favorite pieces and was one of the most fun to work on. The fact that you can really make the forks balance on two toothpicks end to end makes for a nice conversation piece. I used to have one sitting on my desk, just because I thought it looked impossible at first.

Chess Game

A drawing of a chess board with pieces on it. This piece of mine was finished while I was in middle school. I was absolutely fascinated by chess at the time and so as a project, I decided to construct a chess match to draw. I had not yet discovered pen and ink, so this explains why I used pencil to do this one.

Night at the Omelet Shoppe

A drawing of coffee cup, filled with coffee, sitting beside a sugar dispenser. While sitting at the Omelet Shoppe one night, I had nothing else to do while drinking my coffee, so I decided that I would draw my coffee cup and the sugar container. This is what I came up with.

I enjoyed drawing there so much that it has become a primary place to draw. Many other drawings here were done there.

Turning to the DarkSide

A drawing of an aluminum can, a rolled cigarette, and a rose in a vaseThis piece was inspired by an ex-girlfriend who decided that going out and getting drunk and high was the thing that she wanted to do. So we broke up. This was drawn the following day.

It's not really obvious, but the water in the vase is supposed to be beer and the joint is killing the flower, which represents love.

Self Portrait

A drawing of a young man with long hairThe obligatory self portrait. This was done during my sophomore year in high school. I had long hair then. Most people still tell me that I should have kept it long. Every once in a while I'll let it grow out some, but it is chopped when warm weather hits.

Hand of Doom

A drawing of a hand, palm facing, with an eye in the center of the palm. This is a very interesting piece to me because I saw it in a dream. It was that scary of a nightmare that I was able to remember vividly this hand which was attached to a good friends arm in my dream.

The strange thing was that this friend and I had a falling out shortly after I had this dream. I never told him about the dream though. Thus the name 'Hand of Doom'.

All Mixed Up

A drawing of a candle, sword, a book, a computer mouse, gold, and pypes, all connected with computer circuitry. This is a very strange piece in that I was really not in the mindset to draw that night. I just sat down and started sketching stuff. Then I decided to bring it all together to form a piece using circuits. I am overall very pleased with how this piece turned out.
